Wood Occupations Level 3 Diploma at Accrington and Rossendale College

Course description

This national qualification consists of 40% practical work and 60% theory work. Your practical work takes place in purpose built workshops.

Theory sessions underpin the practical work by covering Trade Technology and associated subjects. Over the year you will attend college all day and evening on a Monday for 36 weeks

Entry requirements

You will need to have completed your Level 2 Diploma in site carpentry or bench joinery. Functional Skills level 2 in Maths and English will be required or GCSEs A-C


Your level 3 Diploma in site carpentry / bench joinery will be assessed by a practical end test, job knowledge questions and externally-set examination, which is an industry recognised, qualification

Financial information

This course is free of charge for 16 – 18 year olds.

This course will cost a maximum of £1,396 for learners aged 19 years old or above. This fee may be reduced or void depending on the individual’s circumstances.

Future opportunities

Upon successful completion you could progress onto the BTEC subsiduary diploma/HNC in construction which will give you a possible route into professional positions within construction, for example architecture, site management, quantity surveying.
