Physics at Andover College

Course description

A Level Physics will offer you a challenging course that will give you a better understanding of how and why the world behaves in the way it does. You will learn analytical skills and problem solving skills that will benefit you through life.

We have an extensively well-supplied physics department, with equipment for nearly every college-level experiment you can think of. We have had guest speakers in from industry, including a presentation and demonstration about the Bloodhound-Britain’s bid to break the world land-speed record with the fastest car.

A successful student will have a desire to learn and ask questions about how the world works. They will have a commitment to tackle challenges, a strong work ethic, strong analytical and mathematical aptitude, and attention to detail. There are possible trips to Rutherford Appleton Laboratory or CERN, depending on student interest.
