Spa Therapy - Level 3 Apprenticeship at Middlesbrough College
Apprenticeships allow 16 plus year olds to start work and earn a wage, while learning new skills that lead to nationally recognised qualifications. Apprenticeships are designed with the help of employers in the industry, so they offer a structured programme that takes Apprentices through the skills needed to do a job well. Most of an Apprentice's training takes place on the job but they will also have to complete off-the-job training within the College. This course is for anyone aspiring to be a Spa Therapist and will cover all aspects of theory and practical on:- Body Massage Stone Therapy Electrical Facials Spa Treatments Health & Safety Finance Detailed Anatomy & Physiology You will practice these treatments at our modern ‘Francesco's’ commercial Beauty Salon and within your Apprenticeship placement. You may have the opportunity to undertake additional optional qualifications (may incur an additional cost). Maths and English will also form an important and mandatory part of your course. Achievement of these and a Technical Certificate will result in the achievement of the full Level 3 framework. The apprentice National Minimum Wage applies to all 16 to 18 year old apprentices and to those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. If the apprentice is aged 19 and / or has completed the first year of their Apprenticeship, the employer must pay the National Minimum Wage appropriate for their age. Employed within a suitable Beauty Salon. You must hold an NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification and also have a successful interview with the Beauty Team and a good reference. "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."
All units will be assessed through assignments.
Salon Management - Level 4 Foundation Degree in Leadership and Management or a career within the Beauty Industry. The College Careers Service is available to all our students. We can help you when deciding which course or option you wish to take. During your course we ensure you develop employability skills and gain relevant experience. We provide information, advice and support when completing your course and progressing to work or going into higher education. When applying for University we can provide support with the UCAS application and Student Finance.
