Youth Skills C&G Level 1 Award at Lambeth College

Course description

Lambeth Youth Skills is a 12-week course where we come up with creative and flexible ways of developing your skills, introducing you to new activities and challenges that will support you into taking the right steps into a career you’ve dreamed of.

What’s involved?

You will be involved in educational visits, project work, team work and have the chance to develop your problem solving skills and learn about healthy lifestyles. The course also offers vocational tasters in a variety of areas (such as childcare, business, sports, performing arts and construction) for you to try out and to see what you like, and helps you to develop your English and Maths skills.

Our aim is to improve your skills in a wide range of areas, from communication and team work to career progression.

Supporting you all the way:

  • You will be appointed with your own personal mentor who will help you to develop your personal and social skills
  • You will have an initial and on-going assessments to make sure you are on track and getting the most out of your programme
  • You will be able to attend workshops and will have access to online resources helping you to gain those all important skills with independent/self-study
  • You will have support with literacy and numeracy and using computers

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but you will be required to take the initial College assessment to ensure we place you in the right level for the course.
