Vehicle Body Repair and Refinishing Level 2 at Blackpool and The Fylde College

Course description

This is a level 2 qualification which covers knowledge and skills required for vehicle body and cosmetics repair and preparation procedures. It provides essential knowledge and skills for vehicle body paint operators working on a wide range of vehicles in all types of garages, dealerships and specialist body paint businesses. The course provides training in all aspects of modern day vehicle body repair operations. Close links with industry it also provide a gateway to modern apprenticeships. All level 2 learners will have the opportunity to compete in our refinisher of the year award.

Entry requirements

Passed an Automotive Level 1 course OR have relevant motor vehicle experience. If motor vehicle experience, must also demonstrate relevant skills at required level.

A few questions that we are often asked about entrance to the vehicle body repair course: Will I need to supply my own boots and overalls? Answer; Yes but there may be individual circumstances where we can provide these. Will I need to supply my own breathing apparatus? Answer; No, we will supply all essential PPE, (you may supply your own but it will need to be in excellent condition and type approved). Can I work on my own projects? Answer; you will not need to, the course will provide plenty of opportunity for you to work on a variety of panels ranging from flat steel to full motorcycle tanks and even airplanes, (yes, even airplanes).
