Course description

If you have a passion for art & design and hope to study a creative subject at university or work within this field, then this is an excellent qualification for you.

Course content

The fine art course uses a range of materials including painting, print, sculpture, mixed media and digital imagery. The course encourages experimental art. Observational drawing is a major component and underpins all fine art practice.

You till undertake a lot of practical studio work and you will study drawing, painting, mixed media and printmaking.

Entry requirements

The minimum requirement for progression onto an A Level pathway is at least five grade 5s at GCSE, including English.

We would expect students looking to study an art & design A Level to have at least a grade 5 in an art & design subject, or a BTEC equivalent. However, of equal importance is a genuine interest and passion for art, combined with an enthusiastic approach.

We will look at each application individually and flexibly and will discuss your choice of courses.

This is an academic course following a two year linear A Level.
