GMDSS General Operators Certificate (GOC) at UKSA

Course description

The GMDSS General Operators Certificate (GOC) is the highest level in radio communication required for Officer of the Watch (Yacht) and Master (Yacht) CoCs and any personnel who have radio communication duties onboard vessels fitted with GMDSS equipment.

The General Operators Certificate course provides a mixture of theory and practical application as part of the GMDSS examinations, covering general knowledge on Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and radio regulations alongside the practice and understanding of radio-telephone communications and procedures for situations such as emergencies and distress.
