Course description

Physics is for you if: You want (or may want) a career that requires good scientific knowledge, good problem solving skills and logical thinking. Physics A-Level helps to open the door to a huge range of careers in computing, engineering, industry, finance, medicine and in many other areas. You enjoyed mathematics and science at GCSE and you want to study a science at AS level. The AQA Physics A syllabus is a traditional program of study and will provide any student with a solid background in the science. Experimental work is carried out as a part of the course. Physics is a shortage subject in this country. People with Physics degrees are in great demand in all aspects of the world of work, including teaching.

Course content

This course is for you if: Have at least a Grade A in GCSE Mathematics and Double Award Science AA (or GCSE Physics Grade B) and will be studying A Level Maths alongside this subject. Enjoy finding out how the Universe (and consequently everything else) works. Enjoy using mathematics and carrying out experiments - Has a serious commitment to learning theoretical concepts and ideas.

Entry requirements

At least a Grade A in GCSE Mathematics and Double Award Science AA (or GCSE Physics Grade B). You will also be required to study AS Maths alongside this subject.

Assessment

Written exam and Practical endorsement.
