BTEC Music (Performing) is a highly specialist work related qualification giving learners the skills, knowledge and experience to prepare for work in the music industry. As the name suggests the course is largely based upon performing music .This course is mostly practical and has no examinations.

Compulsory Units • Music Performance Techniques • Working and Developing as an Ensemble OR • Solo Music Performance Skills There are further optional units allowing the course to be tailor made for the particular group of students. Some further choices are: • Pop Music in Practice • Improvising Music • Music Performance Session Styles • Music Theatre Performance • The Sound and Music Industry • The Music Freelance World • Music Project • Classical Music in Practice • Composing Music • Singing Techniques and Performance • Music in the Community • Improvising Music in a Jazz Style.
