Performing Arts BTEC First Diploma at Walsall College

Course description

Acting is a unique profession that allows you to explore diverse characters and stories and introducing you to ideas, situations and people that can help you develop a richer understanding of the world.

By helping you develop your skills, confidence and working knowledge of performing arts, this course prepares you for employment across a range of industries.

The course consists of a number of units, covering topics such as:

  • Devising plays
  • The development of drama
  • Acting skills and techniques
  • Musical theatre performance

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at Grades D to G (including a curriculum-related subject). Or successful completion of Level 1 related qualification.

Assessment

Each unit is composed of a number of formative tasks, and will be assessed by project assignments.
