Level 1 Introduction to Coaching at Reds in the Community

Course description

The Level 1 I ntroduction to Coaching course offers an excellent opportunity to participate in sports, build confidence, develop team working skills, and learn the basics of coaching sport. You will work with tutors to improve your personal and social development and work alongside experienced coaches to provide you with an opportunity to learn sporting and motivational skills from those in the know.

Course content

Level 1 qualifications which focus on personal progression, confidence building, developing sports leadership skills and employability skills, it also shows you an insight on the sports sector. You will also have frequent reviews with your tutor to see how you are progressing and any other queries.

Entry requirements

No formal entry requirements


Assessments will occur continually throughout the programme. You will have unit assignments to complete as well as been assessed on your practical and coaching ability. You will gain additional qualifications by completing your key skills numeracy and literacy.

No final exam

Financial information

  • Possible bursary payment.
  • A kit may be required.

Future opportunities

On completion of Level 1 Introduction to Coaching the students may be able to progress onto further education (entry requirements permitting) such as the Level 2 Sport, Exercise and Health course at Oakwell
