Food, Nutrition and Health at Benfield School

Course description

This course complements studies in related areas such as Sociology, Health and Social Care and Applied Science. It considers the social aspects of food and nutrition and how these impact on different groups in society.

Course content

During this A-Level course students will focus on society, demography and the provision of food and its production.  During the coursework project there is the opportunity to develop a food product for a specific social group.  The course provides you with a sound understanding of food from an environmental, domestic and financial perspective, as well as food safety and production.

Future opportunities

This course develops skills that are relevant to further study in Food Science, Sports and Physiotherapy, Nursing and Social Care.
