Accident Repair Paint Principles Diploma Level 1 at Sunderland College

Course description

This course is for people interested in working in the motor vehicle industry painting vehicles or those wishing to gain qualifications to enhance their current job role.

Course content

You will learn the correct procedures for repairing panels preparing surfaces to receive paint and applying primers plus associated hand skills.

Entry requirements

The course is the first level for vehicle painting you’ll need a GCSE at grade G or above or, for adults, basic literacy skills.


You will learn the theory of paint operations in the classroom and work on vehicles in the paint shop. You will be assessed through coursework and take an online test.

This course allows you to progress onto a  Accident Repair Paint Principals Diploma Level 2.
