BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Engineering at Kingston College
The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is a full-time Engineering course and continues on from the one year, BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Engineering. This course is equivalent to three A Levels. It provides the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the design, development and manufacture and maintenance of engineering products and systems. The course is practical, work related and follows a manufacturing pathway developed by BTEC. Learning is achieved through the completion of projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
Three core units: Mathematics for Engineering Technicians, Health & Safety in the Engineering Workplace and Mechanical Principles and Applications.
Six centre defined units such as: Computer Aided Drafting for Technicians, Application of Mechanical Systems and Technology, Fabrication Processes and Technology, Engineering Drawing, Electrical Technology and a further engineering unit.p>

Minimum of GCSE grade B/5 in Mathematics and Science and a minimum of grade C/4 in English and at least two other GCSEs, or a Level 2 Engineering vocational qualification at Merit level including Mathematics and Science units.
