Health & Social Care Advanced Apprenticeship - Level 3 at Redcar & Cleveland College

Course description

To qualify for the Advanced Apprenticeship you must secure suitable employment in the area of Health and Social Care, which will enable you to achieve a Diploma in Health and Social Care at level 3. You will need a good standard of education, including numeracy and literacy, preferably with GCSE grade C in English and Mathematics (or have an NVQ Level 2 in a related subject).


Course content

The current Health and Social Care Framework is:

Competence Based Element

  • Diploma in Health and Social Care (Level 3).

Knowledge Based Element (depending on Pathway)

  • Certificate in Preparing to work in Adult Social Care (Level 3).
  • Award in Employment Responsibilities & Rights in Health, Social Care & Young People‚Äôs Settings
  • Personal Learning & Thinking Skills

The choice of Competence based and knowledge elements will be discussed in partnership with you, the employer and your tutor taking into consideration your skills, experiences and workplace.

Entry requirements

Learners will need to be employed for the duration of the Apprenticeship. This framework has been designed to enable you and your employer to work together on the delivery of an individual training programme, which will ensure that the relevant occupational and industry specific skills are acquired.

You will be required to have a Contract of Employment minimum of 30 hours a week.

Future opportunities

Most of our apprentices continue to be employed at the end of the apprenticeship. There are good opportunities for selfemployment or perhaps progression to a higher level apprenticeship.
