Why study Physics?
Lessons are varied and the topics covered are diverse, from the smallest subatomic particles to the structure of the Universe. It is a challenging subject, requiring the development of a real understanding of why the world behaves in the way that it does.
What do I study?
Measurements and their errors, Particles and radiation, Waves, Electricity, Fields Mechanics and materials, Further mechanics and thermal physics Nuclear physics: from Astrophysics; Medical; Engineering; Turning points; Electronics Forces and motion, energy, electrical circuits, materials, light and sound waves, particle physics, electromagnetism, astrophysics.
Physicists are highly sought after in a wide variety of careers. These include: engineering, medical physics, research and development, finance, computing, journalism and law.
GCSEs at an average of at least Grade B which must include: English Language (minimum grade C); Maths (minimum grade B); Core and Additional Science at grade B/B, or Seperate Sciences at grade B/B/C, including grade B in Physics.
