Art and Design at Plume College

Course description

In year one (AS), students will study the relationship between ideas and art and design practice. There will be the opportunity to develop an understanding of the expressive nature of the formal elements of art and design, such as the use of line, colour or texture. Art History research is also an important part of the course. There will be one externally set assignment.

In year two (A2) students will research, evaluate, analyse and establish links between their own work and the broader art world and produce a written project in response. Students will develop the ability to identify and resolve creative problems. There will be an externally set assignment to demonstrate the ability to use the language of the subject, the formal elements of art study and personal style.
