Course content

Why should I study Football Coaching?

We are lucky to be working in partnership with top Championship football club, Bolton Wanderers to deliver a full-time football coaching course (level 2 NVQ).

Ask any footballer who they rank as the most important influence on their career and almost all would make reference to a coach, past or present. Many would not be where they are today without the help, influence and guidance of a coach. Whether playing football at the highest level or simply for fun, the importance of a good coach cannot be under-estimated.

Bolton Wanderers, through its extensive training programme for coaches, caters for the young coach looking to enter the coaching industry. A successful coach should always be open to new ideas and want to continually improve their individual skills and knowledge of the game.

This course will give you an officially recognised football qualification and the experience to seek employment within football and sports coaching. You will complete your Level 2 Coaching and Instructing Association Football in the first year and a Level 3 in Football coaching in the second year. Alternatively, after the first year you may choose to progress onto one of our Level 3 vocational sports courses.
