Public Services Level 2 Vocational at Worcester Sixth Form College
This is a vocational course that focuses on the uniformed public services such as the police, armed forces and the fire service, and a range of topics such as Psychology, Sociology, K and Outdoor Education. It is useful both in terms of moving on to Higher Education or employment, with increasing opportunities existing within the public services
If a student does not have either GCSE Maths and/or English Language this must form part of their programme. Where a student has a high average GCSE score but needs to take both GCSE Maths and GCSE English Language then they will do this in combination with 2 or 3 AS levels or BTEC Certificates, or a BTEC 90-credit Diploma
The Level 2 course will have a variety of assessment activities, most of which is coursework.
Coursework includes presentations, reports, practical observations and peer assessments.
External assessment could include tests, examinations and controlled assessments.
While many students progress to a career within the public service of their choice, Level 3 Public Services also provides a recognised progression route to university.
- An extensive range of materials available in the Learning Resources Centre and in course base room
