Course description

The Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies (QCF) is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills by covering mandatory units and enhance your skills further with the optional units. Underpinning this qualification you will develop sound knowledge of health and safety practice. You will develop your skills in Beauty Therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform in salon.

Course content

You will be able to study a wide range of units such as: health and safety practice, Client care, Facial skincare, Removing hair, Eyelash and brow treatments, Manicure treatments, Pedicure treatments, Applying make up, Providing nail art.

Entry requirements

There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification. However you will have a strong interest in a career in the Beauty Industry.


Each unit requires

formal practical assessments which accounts for 57%

portfolio evidence which accounts for 18 %

external papers which accounts for 24%

Future opportunities

The course qualifies you for employment in the Beauty Therapy industries. Alternatively you may choose to study further qualifications in additional therapy such as Level 3 Beauty Therapy or move onto a specialised holistic or makeup artist’s course
