Business Studies at Neston High School

Course description

The A-Level Business Studies course requires learners to study four units of work over two years. Students will be expected to complete a range of class and homework activities and is best suited to those who take an active interest in the news and current affairs. Students will be expected to read newspapers and watch news programmes in order to keep up-to-date. This course is best suited to those students who perform well in examination conditions.

Why take an A-Level in Business?
Job opportunities exist in many different areas of business and economics, including; banking, accountancy, stock trading, financial advisors, marketing and of course running your own business. No matter what pathways students choose to take, business is involved in some way.

A-Level Business provides a springboard to a university degree or foundation degree in an appropriate business or economic discipline, or can lead to an HNC, HND or employment.

Method of Assessment
100% Examinations AS examination in May/June Year 12 A2 examination in May/June Year 13

Students will be expected to apply their theoretical knowledge to real life contexts, analyse situations and make evaluative judgements based on evidence
