Critical Thinking at West Walsall E-ACT Academy

Course description

What the subject is about: Critical Thinking is about how to think and read, as well as how to write in a coherent and logical way. It is a skills based subject which aims to enable students to understand how reasoning and argumentation works and to be able to critically evaluate arguments. There is no subject content which needs to be learned and the course will draw on examples from the fields of ethics, history, politics, religious studies, philosophy, current affairs, the sciences and simple everyday life situations. Though these skills are particularly applicable to subjects such as English, History and Law, taking critical thinking would be beneficial to any student.
