Course description

Do you have the vision to create live events, plan corporate conferences, and stage the next big concert? This course is designed for young people with a passion for event management. In a competitive industry where the UK has many top event management companies this course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to compete with the best in all areas of event planning and develop your own management style and creative flair. Aimed at young people interested in event management and production, this course will teach the discipline needed to plan and run an event, and give you an understanding of what it takes to coordinate and work to a client’s brief.

Course content

On the course you will learn how to plan and run a number of events, preparing and managing the budget. You will learn how to plan and put on a safe event, looking at health and safety law, licensing and venue management. You will work to secure funding for events, market and work with sponsors to attract interest and promotion opportunities. You will work in teams to oversee the set up and breakdown of an event and evaluate you and the team’s performance. You will work with real clients and produce professional events for both the Academy and external companies.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be between the ages of 16-18 on the 1st September 2015 – Prospective students will be offered places on a conditional basis until they receive their GCSE results.


No prior qualifications required
A commitment and passion for music, media, events or fashion


Applicants for L2 courses must have at least 5 GCSEs at D or below (or equivalent) including English


Applicants for L3 courses must have at least 5 GCSEs at C or above (or equivalent) including English C and Maths D

*Places will be awarded to learners who meet our course entrance criteria, are willing to learn and show the most potential.
