Health and Social Care Level 2 Apprenticeship at Lancaster and Morecambe College

Course description

As an Apprentice you really do get the best of both
worlds; you will earn a salary and gain real experience
in the workplace with your employer as well as working
towards a nationally recognised NVQ and other
qualifications.
Apprenticeships are suitable for well-motivated people
who are focussed and know which career path they
want to follow. They offer high quality work-based
training as an alternative to full time study.
This programme is aimed at people who are employed,
or are seeking employment. You will need to be 16
years of age or over. Apprenticeships are available at
level 2 and level 3.

Course content

• Employment should be for a minimum of 30 hours per week, with training in the workplace • Completion of Technical Certificate • You will work towards a Qualification Credit Framework (QCF) plus Functional Skills and Employment Rights and Responsibilities The Apprenticeship covers: • Edexcel Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England QCF • Functional Skills in English and maths • Employers Rights and Responsibilities booklet • You will also receive tuition to support the underpinning knowledge required for your QCF • Separate Technical Certificate for level 2 • You will receive regular monitoring and assessment in the workplace • Assessment of Functional Skills including attendance at workshops 

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade A*-D including English or maths OR a Level 1 related qualification. Relevant work experience will also be considered Entry criteria will be applied at the discretion of the course manager.

Financial information

Apprenticeship training is currently fully funded, however this is subject to change.

Further information

When employment is secured you will start your apprenticeship immediately. If you don't have Maths and English qualifications you will be enrolled as a pre apprentice, you will then complete these in a college workshop or work setting.
