Painting and Decorating Level 3 Diploma at Accrington and Rossendale College

Course description

This national qualification consists of 40% practical work and 60% theory work. Your practical work takes place in purpose built workshops.
Theory sessions underpin the practical work by covering Trade Technology and associated subjects. Over the year you will attend college all day and evening on a Wednesday for 36 weeks including 4 block week over the year

Your level 3 Diploma in painting and decorating will be assessed by several practical end tests, job knowledge questions and externally-set examinations, which are industry recognised, qualification.

Course content

Preferably Painters bib & brace or white trousers would be ideally suitable, with stout footwear

All tools and equipment will be provided although we can offer a discount on tool purchases from a world leading manufacturer.

Entry requirements

You will need to have completed your Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating. Functional Skills level 2 in Maths & English will also be desired or GCSEs A-C.

Assessment

You will be assessed through practical observations, oral questions, written assignments and internal written papers.

Financial information

This course is free of charge for 16 – 18 year olds.

This course will cost a maximum of £480 for learners aged 19 years old or above. This fee may be reduced or void depending on the individual’s circumstances.

Future opportunities

Upon successful completion you could progress onto the BTEC subsiduary diploma/HNC or Interior design course.
