Course description

The Performing Manufacturing Operations apprenticeship focuses on the practical skills and knowledge involved in the manufacturing process. During your apprenticeship you will be assessed in the workplace. Completing this qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to work on a variety of manufacturing operations within your chosen industry. During your apprenticeship you will complete the mandatory unit 'Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements'. As well as a range of optional units which include: Transferring materials, Preparing for manufacturing operations, Concluding manufacturing operations or ensuring effective handover of manufacturing operations, Receiving and checking incoming materials, Producing shaped products, Producing products by assembly operations. This course will involve 20% of your time to be dedicated to off the job training.Engineers are inventors, designers and problem solvers – people who make a difference to the way we live. As trained professionals, engineers are highly respected. You will be trained to use the latest machinery and equipment to prepare for a career in electrical and electronic engineering, fabrication and welding, mechanical manufacturing or technical support.

Entry requirements

Initial assessment and diagnostic testing on maths and English will take place prior to commencement of apprenticeship.
