Employability Skills (Level 3 Certificate) at Norton Hill School and Midsomer Norton Sixth Form

Course description

Employability Skills is designed to allow you to develop those skills which are highly regarded in the workplace. There are many businesses who complain about students who lack the skills to succeed in the workplace and this course is designed to address this.

This course will suit any student who plans to go into an apprenticeship or direct into work after 6th form. The course is assessed entirely by coursework so would suit those that thrive with this sort of assessment criteria.

Course content

Students complete activities looking at the following areas:

Active Citizenship

Work Related Activities

Career Planning

Global Awareness

Enrichment Activities

Extended Project

There are a wide range of activities available from carrying out a dedicated research project, or taking on a leadership role, to work experience and volunteering placements.

Entry requirements

5 A*- C/9-5 grades at GCSE or equivalent.

Future opportunities

The course is equivalent to an AS level and can be used for entry to either university, an apprenticeship or the work place.
