Economics A Level at Twynham School

Course description

Economics is about choice and the impact of our choices on each other. It relates to every aspect of our lives, from the decisions we make as individuals or families to the structures created by governments and firms.

Microeconomics will examine individual firms and markets, whereas macroeconomics allows students to understand those choices made by society in general and their contribution to the wider economic and social environment.

Students will develop an enquiring, critical and thoughtful 'economist's mind', and practise skills, qualities and attitudes which will equip them for the challenges, opportunities and responsibilities of adult working life.

Economics is a subject that is affecting us all in the current economic climate and studying this A-level will help students to understand the problems faced by our economy and the potential solutions available.
