Technical Theatre Intermediate/Advanced Apprenticeship at Exeter College

Course description

If you are keen to work as part of a backstage team, this apprenticeship sets you on the way to becoming a theatre technician.
You will:
- Be prepared to work shifts, handle equipment, work at heights and in cramped conditions
- Provide support in a variety of roles including lighting, design, sound and floor management
- Operate as part of the technical crew team co-ordinating and handling equipment, operating lights, helping with special effects and preparing the stage for performance
- Work with employers such as the Northcott Theatre and The Point in Eastleigh

Entry requirements

For the Level 2 apprenticeship (intermediate) you will need four GCSEs at grade Cor above (including English language and maths at grade D or above). Previous experience or qualifications in any of the creative industries would be useful, but not essential, although keen interest in the industry is a must.
