Environmental Conservation - Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2) at Askham Bryan College
Work-based learning and assessment at your place of work with some college based study. Learners must be in a paid work placement to commence an apprenticeship programme. The work-based route involves practising and demonstrating a range of practical and theory skills and includes completing a Work-Based Diploma at Level 2 or 3 plus Functional Skills at an appropriate level.
Learners would usually enter at the Intermediate Apprenticeship (Level 2) stage before progressing to the Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3). Those employed in the industry and have increased level of responsibility may also be considered for the Advanced Apprenticeship.
The Work Based Diploma includes practising and demonstrating a range of skills, which could include:
• Surveying and reporting • Constructing and maintaining boundaries and surfaces • Installing and maintaining site furniture • Maintaining habitats • Health and safety • Developing personal performance • Working with others and caring for the public • Business for environmental and land-based industries • English and maths
The opportunity exists to take one or more nationally recognised legislative test (such as Safe Use of Pesticides or Chainsaw Operation) - charges may apply to the student or employer.
No formal qualifications, but you need a suitable and relevant work placement, but there are other opportunities to enter as a programme led apprentice
