Course description

For the Principal Learning of the Foundation Diploma in Construction and the Built environment you will cover the following topics:- 1. Design Influences 2. Create the Built Environment 3. Using Tools 4. Methods and Materials 5. Value and Use of the Built Environment. 6. Maintenance of the Built Environment 7. Modern Methods of Construction You will also undertake a project. the course aims to : -allow you to develop a range of skills that will be useful both in the workplace and for future learning - provide you with essential construction and built environment knowledge that will help you to enter the workplace - be practical and motivating, allowing you to apply your knowledge and skills in relevant meaningful employer led activities - promote your development of personal learning and thinking skills

Entry requirements

Pre 16: The course is open to young people who show a keen interest in this area and have a strong recommendation/reference. Post 16: Success at entry level qualifications plus evidence of keen interest in this area and have a strong recommendation/reference.

Future opportunities

The course could lead to a Higher Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment , other vocationally related courses or other level two courses at college
