Travel & Tourism BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at Fareham College

Course description

This course introduces the wide variety of elements  that comprise the broad travel and tourism industry, including marketing, responsible tourism, events and conferences, customer service, working on cruise liners, handling air passengers and hospitality.

In Year 1 you will plan and go on a residential trip, and in Year 2 you will undertake industry-related work experience.

This course will further your knowledge in a wide range of interesting areas such as marketing, the cruise industry, host to be a ski host and will give you work experience opportunities.

The course features day visits to a P&O cruise ship, London, Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth Historical Dockyard and other key local attractions.


Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths and English

Air cabin crew will need to purchase a uniform, please ask for prices and details.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course you could progress to university to study travel and tourism or hospitality management.

Past students have been offered opportunities with Thomas Cook, Royal Caribbean Line and Carnival Cruises.

You could find work in tour operations, travel agencies, hotels and resorts, event management, airlines or cruise customer service and more.
