Texts in Context, The Struggle for Identity in Modern Literature 
Creative Study Close study of two set texts in preparation for two pieces of coursework that interact creatively with the chosen theme of identity. 
Reading for Meaning Study a range of texts across all time periods that present the key theme of Love Through the Ages in preparation for an unseen response to two texts in exam conditions. 
Unit 4: An extended piece of coursework that focuses on a comparison between Shakespeare and two other authors – again focussing on an aspect of the presentation of love.

Entry requirements

B grade in English and English Literature at GCSE

Future opportunities

In addition to University degrees in literature both as a single honour, or as a joint honour, this A-level is regarded as an academic choice that will support a range of university options such as law, philosophy or history.
