Creative and Media Production Level 2 BTEC Diploma at Redbridge College

Course description

Would you like to work in the media? Then you’ve come to the right place. Whether your ambition is to be on TV or to run things behind the scenes, this course will give you the practical skills and knowledge you need to start your dream career.

Course content

Core units:

  • Introduction to media industries
  • Research for media production
  • Video production
  • Audio production
  • Photography
  • Media production project

Functional Skills: 16-18: You will also study English and maths to support your main course. 19+: You may study one of the functional skills if appropriate.

Entry requirements

You will need to have three GCSEs at Grade D or above including English and/or maths, and succeed at interview with the college. As part of your interview process you will be required to bring in any Media or E-Media work you have done. This may include examples of short films, scripts or photography. You may bring hard-copies of your portfolio or a digital copy (saved on disc or USB, or links to online work).  


You'll be taught by our highly skilled team of staff who will pass on their years of industry knowledge and experience to you. Assessment takes place through a mixture of creative, practical and written projects.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course you will able to further enhance your skills and knowledge by progressing to a Level 3 qualification at Redbridge College such as our BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production. You may also be able to enter employment at a junior level.
