This Apprenticeship teaches you the skills to provide excellent customer service, and can be applied to wherever you work. You may be employed within local Government or telecommunications.
Good customer service is key to the success of any business or organisation. It’s one of those useful skills that’s found all over the place and covers all the extras that make a customer’s experience better.
As a customer service apprentice, you will probably work at the front end of an employer’s business activities and regularly assist customers. Duties will vary between sectors, but in most cases you’ll be making sure that customers are dealt with in a positive, reliable and pleasant way.
To properly assist customers, you’ll need clear and up-to-date knowledge of your organisation’s products and services. You’ll also need to be able to communicate with all sorts of people.
Completing this Apprenticeship is a way of providing evidence of skills that will serve you well witin your rob role.
There are a number of routes for you to progress within the apprenticeship programme.
You will normally work through mandatory units, this is the work you must do and optional units tailored to suit your job.
In addition to the practical tasks of the apprenticeship you will also need to complete a technical theory element. This covers your knowledge and understanding of your job role and the industry you are working in.

To study for this apprenticeship programme you should have an interest in developing your skills and have a reasonable standard in Maths, English and ICT.
You will need to be employed within the industry and your apprenticeship will need to match the requirements of your job role.
Your knowledge and skills will be assessed against a set of performance standards. These standards are called learning outcomes. Your assessor will guide you through the programme and help you to gather evidence and develop your skills to assist you to prove your competency within your job role.
From time to time you may need to visit either a college or test centre to complete the theory and other specialist training elements of your apprenticeship programme.
