Brickwork Level 1 Diploma at Oaklands College

Course description

Full time level 1 diploma Award available at Alban Park Campus. Core units are, Safe working practices, Building methods, Blocklaying, Bricklaying, Cavity wall construction & setting out up to DPC Plus Health and Safety. Functional Skills in Calculations (Building)

Entry requirements

Applicants to be working at GCSE levels E and above. Three GCSE at grade E or above. An aptitude for practical skills and a good work ethic

Continue your training on a level 1 diploma Award in Brickwork. This course will help you get work in the construction industry and produce a portfolio of work to show future employers.


The course is assessed through practical tests, end of unit multiple choice tests and an online multiple choice test.

Financial information

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

Future opportunities

Progression onto the level 2 diploma in brickwork award once the applicant has succesfully completed the level 1 program or an NVQ 2 work based qualification
