Beauty Therapy Level 2 at Newall Green High School and Sixth Form

Course description

What Will I Learn?

You will study a variety of services including manicure, facials, make-up, eyelashes, waxing, spray tans etc.  You will also learn about the Har and Beauty industry, health and safety within the salon, client consulation and displaying and promoting products.

What else is involved? 

You will have the opportunity to work with a number of local businesses and training providers throughout the year to develop your knowledge and understanding of the Hair and Beauty sector to develeop your employability skills.

Entry requirements

What qualifications do I need?

We encourage all students to gain 5 A* -C, including English and Maths.  If you do not have these qualiifications we will still consider your application.  If you do not have a grdae C or above in English and Maths you will take these subjects as part of your pathway.

Assessment

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through practical observations, assignments and online tests.  You will work performing services on students, friends and family to successfully complete your assessment requirements.

Financial information

Students can apply for support from the Student Support Fund (£15-33 per week).

Future opportunities

What will I be able to do after the course finishes?

On completion of the qualification you may progress into employment as a Salon Junior, Receptionist or an Apprenticeship.

You may also progress on to the following courses:

NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing

Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Hair and Beauty Studies.

What qualification will I achieve if I successfully complete this course?
