Course description

What will I study?
You will learn about Travel and Tourism in the UK and abroad in both European and long-haul destinations. You will learn the importance of Customer Service, Marketing, Travel and Tourism products, what it is like to work as a Holiday Representative, entertainment in the sector and how to organise events. You will also develop your skills in preparation for employment.
You will study from a selection of units, including:
• Investigating Travel and Tourism
• The business of Travel and Tourism
• The UK as a destination
• Customer service
• Preparation for employment
• European destinations
• Retail travel operations
• Working as a Holiday Representative
• Events, conferences and exhibitions
• Residential travel
You will gain valuable experience of the travel sector, with work placements and activities organised alongside your studies. This will help to develop your CV in preparation for future employment.
Many students choose international work placements and gain experience as customer service hosts at events across London.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade C or above or an equivalent Level  2  qualification  at  grade  Merit  or  above with Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 2 and a good reference.


You will be asked to complete various pieces of work including tests, set assignments, projects, presentations, case study work and group research tasks. Your tutors on the course will assess two thirds of your work. The remaining third will be assessed externally.

Progression to a higher level course or into employment.
