Course description

This Apprenticeship is suitable for people employed in an administrative role, for example administrative assistants or team administrators, who need to develop or consolidate their skills. They develop the knowledge, understanding and skills essential for working in a business and administration environment, such as communication skills, working with others and managing and improving own performance. A strong foundation in business administration will provide transferable skills that can be used and developed in any role as the employee’s career progresses.

Course content

To achieve this qualification, learners must complete 6 mandatory units and a selection of optional units. Below is an example of the mandatory and optional groups. Mandatory units: •Communication in a Business Environment •Understand Employer Organisations •Principles or Providing Administrative Services •Principles of Business Document Production and Information Management •Manage Personal Performance and Development •Develop Working Relationships with Colleagues Optional units include: •Administer the Recruitment and Selection Process •Handle Mail •Manage Diary Systems •Administer Finance •Meet and Welcome Visitors in a Business Environment •Use a Telephone and Voicemail System •Develop a Presentation •Contribute to the Development and Implementation of an Information System.
