A Level Biology at The Victory Academy

Course description

Having a Biology A Level can open up a world of opportunities in both university choices and career options.  If your are considering applying to university to study biology, zoology, ecology, animal science, marine biology, life science medicine, environmental science, foresnsic science or any other subject relating to the natural world, then A Level Biology is essential, with many other courses preferring biology at A Level.

Course content

  • Module 1: Development of Practical Skills in Biology
  • Module 2: Foundations in Biology
  • Module 3: Exchange & Transport
  • Module 4: Biodiversity, eveolution and disease
  • Module 5: Communication, Homeostatis and Energy
  • Module 6: Genetics, evolution and ecosystems


Entry requirements

Applicants should have at least 5 GCSE's at A* to C including BB in core and addtional science, grade 5 in mats and Grade 4 in either English Language or Literature


100% examined at the end of year 13

Paper 1: Biological Processes

Paper 2: Biological Diversity

Paper 3: Unified Biology

Non-exam assessment: Practical Endorsement for Biology
