FURTHER MATHEMATICS at Steyning Grammar School
The work in this course is additional to that taken at A Level.
In Year One, it is likely that students will sit Pure Maths C1, C2, C3, FP1and two modules from S1 (Statistics) and M1 (Mechanics) and D1 (decision maths). In Year Two, the most likely combination will include FP2, FP3 covering mathematical induction, complex numbers, matrices, hyperbolic functions and group theory together with C3, C4, S2, M2, and one other. This ensures a good balance between mechanical and statistics.
For Year ONE - GCSE grade A (preferably A*) at higher tier. For Year TWO - Reasonable performances in Year 1 module tests.
