Accounting at The Sixth Form College Colchester

Course description

Accounting is a practical, problem solving course designed as an ideal introduction to the world of finance. As well as covering the fundamentals of record-keeping, the course comprises the purposes, techniques and consequences of effective financial accounting. We explore how it helps to monitor and plan successful business operations, together with studying management accounting techniques which aid business management and decision-making. 

Entry requirements

No previous study is expected. A minimum grade B (or 5) in GCSE Mathematics is required as well as a further grade B in a logical/systematic subject (GCSE Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computin, Statistics or Further Mathematics). Also required is a grade C (or 4) or above in GCSE English, English Language or English Literature, as well as a grade B (or 5) or above in at least one predominantly written based GCSE subject (from English, English Language, English Literature, History, Religious Studies or Sociology).
