Course description

Sociologists study people in society. This involves looking at small groups such as the family unit to larger ones like a school or work place and even whole societies, such as a country. Sociology is the attempt to understand how society works and explains the patterns and structures within human relationships. If you wish to learn more about society and the world around you and enjoy independent thinking then this is the course for you.

Sociology is perfect for students thinking of careers in not just social work but nursing, law, teaching, youth and community work, the prison service or counselling.

Entry requirements

Five GCSE subject passes grade A* - C to include either English or maths.
