What will I study?
OCR Biology A-Level
Unit 1- Cells, exchange and transport
Unit 2- Molecules, biodiversity, food and health
Unit 4- Communications, homeostasis and energy
Unit 5- Control, genomes and environment
Unit3 & 6- Practical skills
A minimum grade B must be obtained at GCSE Science/Additional Science or GCSE Biology.
80% is assessed by written examination papers. 20% is the internal assessment of practical skills.
Biology is a great choice of subject for students who are aiming for a career in health and clinical professions, such as medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, physiotherapy, pharmacy, optometry, nursing, zoology, marine biology or forensic science. Some students go on to careers in law, computing, accounting or teaching. It is a rewarding and challenging course which will develop many of the skills essential for a successful career.
