Information & Communication Technology (ICT) GCSE OCR 1995 at Sandown Bay Academy

Course description

This course consists of four modules. The first two make up the short course in ICT. By extending these, taking a further two modules can achieve a full course GCSE. Module 1 is the Key Skills Test (questions based on essential skills need in the workplace)= 20%; Module 2 is coursework where you desing and make an ICT solution suitable for a real business = 30%; Module 3 is coursework extending Module 2 = 30%; Module 4 is the examination paper base on commercial use of ICT = 20%.

Future opportunities

You could take this course to prepare for advanced level courses such as an A/AS Level in ICT or you may need to strengthen your grades by completing a foundation or intermediate vocational qualification. With further training, you could go into a job related to ICT such as a Web Designer, IT Technician or Software Programmer. You could also go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of your employer.
