Course description

You will learn to express your ideas using visual language and will develop expressive skills in different media. Drawing, painting and making objects enable you to communicate an opinion, observation or idea. Working independently and problem-solving are important and developing skills will enable you to produce paintings, prints and montages. A2 UNITS 1 unit - structured coursework 1 unit - controlled test Areas of Study: Candidates are required to work in one or more area(s) of Fine Art, such as those listed below. They may explore overlapping areas and combinations of areas. Painting and drawing Mixed media, including collage and assemblage Sculpture Land art Installation Printmaking: relief, intaglio, screen processes and lithography Film, television, animation, video, photography: lens-based and/or light-based media and new media.

POSSIBLE PROGRESSION: Foundation courses, employmentYou could take this course with other advanced level courses such as History of Art to prepare for higher education in areas of art and design, photography, architecture or more general higher education courses. With further training, you could go into a job related to art and design such as an Architect, Interior or Fashion Designer. The course will also encourage you to explore your creative mind and help you develop the basic skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for.
