Community Sports Leadership award level 2 at Burntwood School

Course description

The prime aim of this course is to produce responsible, motivated people who can lead safe purposeful and enjoyable recreational activities. The course concentrates on improving the leadership skills required to plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate sports sessions. It is a practical course with on going assessment and no final examination. Students will spend much of their time teaching and coaching peers, junior Burntwood students and local primary children.


Entry requirements

Students should be prepared to partake in extra curricular activities at lunchtime and after school and complete 10 hours voluntary service. The Sports Leaders Award Level 2 would be an asset to any student interested in showing their potential for leadership, organisation and personal responsibility.

Future opportunities

This Award may be on offer at some universities or local authorities. Students may also seek employment at local youth clubs, sports clubs and sports development offices
