Intermediate Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching & Learning at Cambridge Regional College

Course description

This qualification is for those who wish to work in schools as a teaching assistant, learning support assistant or special
needs assistant.

The apprenticeship framework consists of a level 2 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Employer Rights and
Responsibilities (ERR), Functional Skills in Maths level 1, English level 2 and ITC level 1, and Personal Learning and
Thinking Skills (PLTS). The certificate is made up of mandatory and optional units. It has a minimum credit value of 30
credits.

Entry requirements

GCSE 3 or functional skills Level 1 in English and maths. Learners must be in the correct job role to provide evidence for aportfolio.

Assessment

All units are assessed by a qualified workplace assessor

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course you can progress to the level 3 advanced apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching
and Learning.

Students who currently attend a Cambridge Area Partnership school should apply online via UCASprogress.com or by using the Cambridge Area Partnership application form (depending on your school). Please ask your careers teacher at school.

Once we have received your application, you will be invited to attend a college Welcome Event, which gives you and your parents/carers the opportunity to have a look around the College, talk to the tutors and ask any questions you may have.
