Course description
What is Information Technology?
The digital world is growing at a phenomenal rate, with technology and the way we use social media changing at an alarming rate. Information Technology is a key component in every industry and almost all businesses rely on their employees having a good range
of knowledge and skills. These skills are in demand with employers wanting organised and analytically minded people to work in their IT department.
You’ll need an analytical mind and an organised approach.
Job roles can include: support technician, help desk professional, website administrator, marketing assistant and data analyst to name just a few. Typical responsibilities include computer maintenance, troubleshooting with hardware and software. Using software
packages and bespoke system. IT help desk to support other users in the business.

IT Application Specialist Level 3
What training will I receive?
You’ll receive real-life training from experienced staff within your workplace, and be visited regularly by a specialist NLTG Tutor. Your Tutor will support and guide you throughout your Apprenticeship, making sure you develop the skills needed for your job role. As part of your Apprenticeship, you will need to complete a Maths and/or English qualification at Level 1 (ie Grade D/3) if you do not already have these qualifications. Depending on your Apprenticeship, you may also need to study an ICT qualification. Your NLTG Tutor will provide you with support and guidance.

You will have to take a Skills Scan to ensure your current level of maths and English is at the required level.
