Aspire HC at Cambridge Regional College
This programme will provide you with the opportunity to explore a range of different areas to help improve your confidence through art, horticulture, hair and beauty. You will also develop your awareness and engagement with your own health and wellbeing as well as becoming more independent in your home skills, including shopping, cooking skills and managing your money. The course will give you plenty of opportunities to access the community and to find out more about what you can get involved in as you prepare for greater independence. There are opportunities for you to develop your creative enterprise and design and make items to sell throughout the year in our shop. You will also focus on your communication skills, reading, writing and number skills.
You will be assessed through a transition and induction programme which will ensure that you develop your communication, social, independence, reading, writing and numeracy skills at an appropriate level. There are no specific entry requirements for this programme and your individual learning plan will be developed to ensure that you achieve your goals. Please note that entry criteria may vary and this will be assessed by your tutors. For this course you are likely to be working towards Entry Level 2. In addition to the entry qualifications listed, the offer of a place on the course is subject to the outcomes of initial assessment, which will be taken at the College as part of the admissions process. Please note that entry criteria may vary quite significantly between courses at the same level. This is to take account of the specific skills needed for success on particular courses, the length of the course and the requirements for progression to the next level. Entry criteria are given as a guide, and the exact requirements in order to obtain a place on a particular course will be confirmed following attendance at a Welcome Event/Interview.
